Happify is one of my favorite sites. I really like content and websites that focus on getting better, instead of looking toward what has already happened (speaking generally, of course). A recent infographic they released that I thought was super interesting was the below, titled How to be Happier at Work.
Some of the facts on the infographic I thought was interesting were the fact that physical therapists are one of the happiest professionals and that millennials value job satisfaction over compensation. Even though (or maybe because) I’m a millennial, I’d have to agree with that– I’d always rather be happy over extremely well-compensated for doing something I hated. While I am super fortunate to do something I enjoy and get paid for it, I know not everyone is that lucky.
A few things that have helped me be happier at work (especially when it’s stressful or back when I was working my way up) was to listen to non-fiction audiobooks, shift the way I worked so I was more productive (60-90 minute sessions of 100% work time with a 15 minute break in between), and slowly shift my workload so it’s what I’m interested in are all things that have helped.
I hope you enjoy the infographic as much as I did.
