It’s hard to decide if Fall or Summer is my favorite season; but I will say that the change into cooler weather as we transition into Fall makes it a perfect way to close out Summer. Fresh Fall weather is still nice enough for you to be out doing fun activities, which there are tons of this time of year: mum farms, pumpkin patch, nature walks, Oktoberfest events, and so much more.
Transitioning between seasons means more than just breaking out the hoodies (finally!). I recently found out that our scalps and skin is affected by the changing weather– this is why we often shed more hair, or in my case, get itchy skin, when it gets colder in the year. Scalp skin is actually the same as the skin throughout your body, but we tend to only focus on the ends of hair and making sure they aren’t frazzled: which could affect your scalp health. That’s why I agreed to partner up with CLEAR SCALP & HAIR™ for this blog post. Paying attention to the health of my hair has become a big concern of mine, especially because I color it. I want my hair to look its best!
When I first tried CLEAR SCALP & HAIR™, I did so because I liked the premise of treating the hair as a whole, instead of just the ends. Yes, I didn’t want my ends to get frizzy, but knew that making sure the scalp was healthy too would make a difference. Besides the smell, I enjoyed the instant health, smoothness, and shine that the products gave me.
Below is an unedited photo of my nature hair, with no product, after using CLEAR SCALP & HAIR™ on a regular basis:
So, as we go into Fall, I thought it’d be fun to share of my favorite fall hairstyles that I’m looking to try out in the coming months. I brought about my own “hairspiration” by trying out CLEAR SCALP & HAIR™ Intense Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner, which I’ve tried samples of in the past and really liked. They do an awesome job of making hair instantly shiny, so I don’t need much product as I try new hairstyles:
The Fishtail Braid
How amazing is this fishtail braid? My hair isn’t quite long enough yet to do a long fishtail like this, but I LOVE this look, especially with fun blouses or even with a more casual look, like with a zippered hoodie. If you don’t know how to do a fishtail, this is a great tutorial:
I’m going to pick up some clear elastics on Amazon or in Wal-Mart soon so I can replicate this look.
Messy, Hippie Braid
Yes, another braid. Something about it just screams FALL to me. Whether I was going to the local Fall Festival to check out all the craft vendors (and to eat a funnel cake, LBH), I think this braid would be great for being outdoors and not worrying about getting hair in my face. It’s also a little more elegant than just throwing it up in a bun, which is what I always do.
This look would be perfect for a Fall wedding (I have three to go to this season) and would look great with the new purple dress I just got from Modcloth. All the twists and turns would also be a great way to show off my hair color and its shine. I always prefer darker hair as it get colder; and shiny, dark hair just has this sense of mischief about it.
This one is a little out of my comfort zone, since it’s more modern, but it would be another great hairstyle to make sure that my hair stays out of my face in a windy Fall day. It would also be another way to add pizzazz to a normal ponytail. The braid (again, I’m obsessed) provides texture and also keeps those baby hairs at bay. I think it would take me a few times to get the hang of it, but once I did, it’s probably easy.
Wavy Hairstyle with a Hat
What would Fall be without a fun hat to go with your leather boots, jeans, and cute jacket? A hat is a finishing touch on a really cute outfit, and it also keeps the sun out of your eyes. Also, if your hair is a little greasy from not being washed in a few days, it’s a great way to hide it, since you probably aren’t going to be too worried about hat hair. 🙂 I really loved this photo because it also has a little tiny half fishtail braid to mix up the natural wave.
Whether you decided to add a little baby braid or not, the wavy look is really easy for me to pull off with minimum effort since that’s my hair’s natural texture. Now I just need a cute hat to go with it!
